Low Back Pain

LOW BACK PAIN

Do you experience low back pain? Well you are not alone, over 31 million people experience back pain every year. Back pain is the single leading cause of disability worldwide. Most of the time back pain is mechanical, which means that the injury is soft tissue related (muscles, joints, ligaments, discs, etc). Back pain that is mechanical in nature can be treated successfully with chiropractic care.

When you come to our office, the doctor will start off by taking a detailed history to identify the actual cause of the problem and the aggravating factors. Finding out the cause of the problem is important to avoid reoccurring episodes in the future.

Most of the time we injure ourselves with repetative stresses that are a part of everyday life, such as repetative job responsibilities, poor posture, daily household work, old mattress, etc. If we can identify the underlying cause, then we can work together to change the habit or eliminate it.

Another leading cause is age! As we age, we refuse to admit to or limit our activities do to aging. Someone who is 50 cannot do what they could do when they were 20, and so on. But people refuse to believe this and injure themselves doing things they shouldn't be doing.

Weight... we all know that gaining weight puts a huge burden our body. If you are one of those people with a large "beer belly", look in the mirror and see how far your belly sticks out from your body. Now imagine how much work your back (spine, muscles, ligaments, etc) has to do to maintain that you can stand up straight, and then add in the work you do everyday, this is why you hurt your back regularly.

Or your problem might be as simple as you just happen to bend over and pick something up wrong, or you woke up with it, or you overdid it in the yard last weekend, etc, regarless the cause, chiropractic can help.

Dr Case will work within your comfort to rehabilitate your back through chiropractic adjustments, traction, stretching, electro-stimulation, home stretches, and lifestyle changes.
